Steelhawk represents the latest spinning ring development, launched in 2011 and based on 65 years collaborationship between Prosino and the most demanding OEM’s and mills worldwide.
Steelhawk meets the customers needs in terms of speed and reliability of the spinning process. It doesn’t need the so called “break-in” procedure: Steelhawk is provided with a special non-metallic dry lubrification coating that allows you to start the new ring at full speed without any long and un-productive running in schedule.

EVERLAST COATING

  • Steelhawk spinning ring helps the reduction of hairness providing a smooth surface for a long period of time on all spindle positions;
  • Hairiness, among its several sources, has its root cause on the dimension of spinning triangle. The area of the spinning triangle change over time due to change in yarn tension, which is strongly influenced by the coefficient of friction between ring and traveller. When the ring surface is worn out (see picture), the coefficient of friction changes.
  • STEELHAWK ring, thanks to the non metallic plasma-like coating keep its smoothness over the years, giving a significant contribution to the control of yarn tension, spinning triangle and ultimate yarn hairiness.

THE BEST CORE STRUCTURE

  • Steelhawk spinning ring helps the reduction of hairness providing a smooth surface for a long period of time on all spindle positions;
  • The raw material used by PROSINO is an outstanding low sulfur, high purity steel that undergo the most challenging inspection before been released as “OK for production”. Heat treatment, thanks to subfreezing step allow the perfect over time dimensional stability.

With more than 2.500.000 units sold – the proof of their strong reliability all over the world – RZD PROTECTED by Prosino Borgosesia Rings are the black colour spinning rings famous for their excellent quality/price ratio and their availability for any brand spinning frames.
RZD PROTECTED are provided with a smooth, micro-porous and silky surface able to catch the natural lubrification of the fiber spun; they have a wide field of application and give superlative performances with fine counts (ne 60 and finer) and core spun yarns.
Flange profile ultra-precise manufacturing without unevennes that represents the ideal traveller surface path.

VERSATILITY AND ADVANTAGES

  • Also available in the innovative technical solution RRAH (Reversible Ring on Aluminium Holder): one spinning ring with 2 flanges and one aluminium holder with a cut.
  • Less weight: the ring and the holder have a minor weight (about 30-40 grams) than the solid ring, which means less power consumption for the ring frame;
  • Double ring life: the ring can be used twice, since it has 2 flanges. When the first one is over, the ring can be flipped in order to use the second flange;
  • Unlimited life of the holder. No problem in the ring fitting: the holder replicates exactly the fitting part of the ring;
  • Saving on future costs: these reversible rings are lighter and less expensive than the full steel rings;

"4+4" LUBRIFICATION SYSTEM

  • Steel Conical Rings have a though job: release the right amount of lubrication: not to much, not too less;
  • Steel conical rings are provided with a peculiar “4+4”micro holes lubrification system, which allows the right amount of lubrification. Every 45° the traveler finds the perfect amount of oil – brought on the ring surface by 100% selected wool wicks – in order to run smoothy for years.

  • The long term Prosino’s manufacturing competence, together with the co-operation with the best world spinning mills, has allowed the development of a special conical/concave running path with an extremely smooth surface, in order to allow the best ring/traveller contact;

Prosino’s range of SINTERED METAL RINGS, with over than 3.000.000 rings sold worldwide, includes different raw material compositions and density in order to suit to the most difficult working conditions.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

  • High hardness, in order to assure a long ring life and a consistent traveller path condition;
  • Surface smoothless and low roughness, for a correct running of the traveller and a consequently regular yarn tension;

THE BEST PERFORMANCE

  • Thanks to our years of experience and strong relationship and valuable feedback from our customers, we have developed SINTERED METAL RINGS, which assures a regular oil flow from the oil reservoir through the ring up to traveller running path. This characteristic can be assured only with a very balanced blend of the metallic and non metallic powders and with a perfect sinterization process.
  • The key factor to reach the highest performances is that the ring porosity must be open on its surface. State of the art manufacturing technology is used to achieve this result. The porosity is kept open and it assures the best oil permeability throughout the ring. In the following example you can see the difference between the PROSINO’s open porosity v.s. a ring from our competitors.

NYLON 4

This is a ring with an high porosity, specially designed for nylon traveller applications. It is recommended for fiber glass application (fine counts), carpet yarn, tyre cord, polypropylene yard and sewing thread.

NYLON 5

This is a ring with medium porosity, specially designed for nylon traveller applications for medium and coarse counts in fiber glass application. The ring is supplied with a special cotton wick.

STEEL 1

This ring has been specifically designed for steel traveller application: it is very ductile and fatigue resistant thanks to the increased density and special alloy elements. Recommended for worsted, semi-worsted and blends.
